"Familias Fuertes" está siendo implementado por UNODC basado en evidencia científica que demuestra la efectividad de trabajar con familias y adolescentes para prevenir el consumo de drogas, el delito y otros comportamientos de riesgo por parte de la juventud. El mismo, se inició en Panamá con el objetivo de contribuir con los esfuerzos existentes en el área de la prevención del consumo de drogas, el VIH/SIDA y la delincuencia entre las poblaciones jóvenes, a través de la participación de la familia como una unidad fundamental de los programas de prevención. El Programa está dirigido a padres y madres con hijos e/o hijas de entre 10 y 14 años de edad. El programa consiste en un currículo de desarrollo de habilidades para padres, adolescentes y la familia como un todo, dividido en siete sesiones durante las cuales se implementa el uso de videos, talleres de análisis, juegos educativos y actividades familiares.
The Strengthening Families Programme is being implemented by UNODC based on scientific evidence that spoke to the effectiveness of targeting families and adolescents to prevent drug use, crime and other risk behaviours in youth. It was initiated in Panama with the aim of contributing to the ongoing efforts in the fields of drug prevention, HIV & AIDS, and delinquency amongst the juvenile population through the participation of the family as a unit in prevention programmes. "Strengthening Families" is directed towards parents with children between the ages of 10 and 14. The programme consists of a curriculum of skills development for parents, adolescents and the family as a whole, disseminated in seven sessions which employ the use of video, analysis workshops, educational games and family activities.
